What is Jet Plasma technology and how does it work?

Jet Plasma technology delivers millisecond pulses of nitrogen-based plasma energy to the skin. This excites inert nitrogen gas which is then converted into activated ionized gas called plasma. This plasma containing energy is directed through the tip of the Jet Plasma handpiece directly onto the skin. The energy delivered produces an action that works on the skin's surface to remove old, photo damaged epidermal cells as well as below the skin's epidermal and dermal layers and into the subcutaneous layer, to promote cellular structure remodeling and collagen growth from the inside out.

Will Jet Plasma treatments harm my skin?

Definitely not! Jet Plasma technology uses a cool atmospheric plasma temperature on the skin that does not create any trauma. It is safe for all skin types and tones.

Which areas can treatments be done on?

Treatments can be done anywhere on the body that needs brightening, tightening, healing and rejuvenation. This includes the scalp for hair follicle restoration.

How much time does one treatment area appointment take?

Although one regular size treatment area takes only 15 minutes, you should plan on a total of 30 minutes for your appointment time to allow for instructions and questions.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on your specific needs, but a series of 3 - 8 treatments is ideal. As an example, a younger person may only need 3 - 4 treatments whereas an older person may need 6 - 8 treatments, and all acne or hair loss clients will need 8 treatments. You may see some improvement with just a few treatments, but it is important to understand that your skin will greatly improve with a series of treatments as high levels of collagen regenerate and cells get repaired over the course of your treatment series.

How often will I need to do the treatments in my series?

Once a week is good for all treatment areas except for clients trying to get rid of acne. Twice a week is recommended for acne clients in order to get the best results of destroying the P. acnes bacteria that is causing the problem, reducing the sebum oil production in your skin and reducing the inflammation.

Jet Plasma treatments are extremely effective for treating acne.

How long will my Jet Plasma results from a series of treatments last?

The longevity of your results is dependent upon several factors such as your age, genetics, your health status, your skincare routine, your lifestyle choices and sun exposure. Jet Plasma results can last several years, which is far longer than botox or microcurrent treatments. Your skin will continue to naturally age though, so once you have achieved your desired outcome, periodic maintenance appointments are recommended. This usually entails one treatment session every 1 -2 months.

Who is not eligible for Jet Plasma treatments?

You are not eligible if any of the following apply to you:

  • Hypersensitivity

  • Pregnant

  • Have had chemo and/or radiation treatments within the last 6 months

  • Have a pacemaker

  • Have an implanted neurostimulator that cannot be turned off

  • Have any electrical implanted device or implanted slow medication release unit

  • Have a cancerous lesion in the area you want to be treated

  • Have had a Botox or filler injection within the past two weeks

Will I have any restrictions after a treatment session?

Yes, there are a few restrictions. After your treatment session, the channels in the skin are open so it is very important that nothing, other than the skincare products applied after your session, be put on the treated area for 12 hours. This includes no makeup or sunscreen. It is also recommended that you do not exercise, swim, sauna or steam for 12 hours after your treatment session.

Do I need to do anything special before my treatment appointments?

Yes, there are a few things you will need to do. Please arrive with freshly washed skin free of makeup, skincare products or ointments/creams. If you are being treated for hair loss, you must arrive with freshly washed hair without any products put on.
